General characteristics of the species
Bone fish. It has a wide, almost cylindrical body. Pointed and relatively small head. Big mouth with great teeth. The body is whitish gray, shiny silver, darker on the back. Adults have a series of transverse black spots on the upper side of the flanks. Young people have a golden longitudinal band near the lateral line. It can reach a total length of up to about 65 cm.
