General characteristics of the species
Cartilaginous fish. It has a row of spines from the area behind the eyes to the first dorsal fin. The head is also covered with spines. It presents a brownish gray color in the dorsal area, with numerous irregular dark spots. The ventral area is white. It can reach a total length of up to about 1 m.
