General characteristics of the species
Migrating bone fish. Body wide, spindle-shaped, rounded, without scales, except on the lateral line and corset. The anal fin is followed by 7 to 8 black pinules. First dorsal fin clearly higher than the second. Caudal peduncle with a central keel on each side. Bright bluish gray color. The belly is whitish and has 4 to 5 black longitudinal lines. It can reach a total length of up to about 100 cm.
