General characteristics of the species

Bone fish. Body laterally compressed. A dorsal fin. Large scales. The operculi have 4 to 5 bone streaks. Blue-green in color on the back and silver on the sides and belly. It has a row of 6 to 8 black spots behind the head. It can reach a total length of up to about 20 cm.
