General characteristics of the species
Bone fish. Round body and large head, with large ridges and spines. No scales under the head. The pectoral fins are round and the caudal fin has a round edge. The color is very variable, but often has orange tones, somewhat pink in the belly, speckled with brown and black spots. It can reach a total length of up to about 50 cm.
