General characteristics of the species

Bone fish. Wide body and something long. Small, pointed mouth. Males have a blue-green back and flanks, a longitudinal orange zigzag band that extends from the head to the tail fin and a blue spot at the end of the operculum. The females have a reddish back and flanks with a pink longitudinal band and below, a yellow band. The belly is white. It can reach a total length of up to about 25 cm.
