General characteristics of the species
Bone fish. Oval and compressed body and small mouth. The lateral line is almost straight. Of bluish gray metallic color on the back and silvery white on the flanks and belly. It has a longitudinal series of 4 to 5 black spots in the center of the flanks. The lobes of the dorsal, anal and caudal fins are black. It can reach a total length of up to about 60 cm.
