General characteristics of the species
Bone fish. Long body with large scales. It presents different colors according to sex: the males are gray with the edge of the fins reddish. The females are red, with a gray spot behind the head and above the pectoral fins, with a yellowish border underneath. It can reach a total length of about 50 cm.
