General characteristics of the species

Bone fish. Oval, tall and long body. Bright silver gray in color with golden longitudinal bands. It has a large black band behind the head and another close to the caudal peduncle, which extends over the posterior end of the dorsal and anal fin. The dorsal, caudal and anal fins are dark gray in color with a black border. The pelvic fins are black. It can reach a total length of up to about 40 cm.
