General characteristics of the species
Bone fish. Wide and very long body. The head is large with a slightly rounded profile in young specimens and a very prominent bone prominence in adult males. It presents a silvery blue-green color with dark punctuations along the body. The belly is metallic yellow. It can reach a total length of up to about 2 m.
