General characteristics of the species
Cartilaginous fish. With six gill openings on each side of the head. Short, rounded head. A dorsal and an anal fin. Young specimens are light gray in color and adults are brown. They have a clear longitudinal line, from the head to almost the end of the caudal fin. It can reach a total length of up to about 5 m.
