General characteristics of the species
Cartilaginous fish. With five gill openings on each side of the head. Two dorsal fins, the second is very small. Asymmetric caudal fin with a very long upper lobe, slightly shorter than the rest of the body. Metallic gray body, darker back and lighter belly. It can reach a total length of about 5 m.
