General characteristics of the species
Bone migratory fish. It presents a dark blue color along the back, with the flanks and ventral area silvery white. With small eyes and a fusiform body, rounded in the center. The two dorsal fins are very close, the second dorsal being equal to the anal, followed by 7 to 9 pinules. The pectoral fins are short. It can reach a total length of up to about 3 m.
