General characteristics of the species
Bone fish. Wide body. Big head and mouth. Smooth skin, without scales, covered with mucus. Dark brown color on the back, with numerous diffuse black spots. Ventral part of the pectoral fins with black border, white belly and peritoneum. It can reach a total length of up to about 2 m.
