Habitat: the bream is a coastal species that occurs around the Islands and shallow seamounts on sand and rock funds, preferably up to 50 m deep.
Principal fishing methods: caniço and Handline.
Biology: the maximum reported size of 45 cm (1.9 kg). The maximum age recorded for the species is 10 years.
Conservation status: currently, the bream doesn't seem to offer concern. In the region the minimum size of species is 15 cm.
